I am the proud mother of a bouncing, climbing, drooling 14 month old. I love my life. I’m a stay-at-home-mom (SAHM). On occasion I will have lunch with old co-workers who ask me if I miss working. My honest answer is yes. I do miss being an event manager. I had the opportunity to manage some really cool events in some really cool places. But I don’t miss the stress, the time schedules, office politics, or the bad office coffee. My toddler makes the schedule now (with a little influence from Mommy). Her idea of office politics is throwing a temper tantrum when she doesn’t get what she wants (which I guess, depending on the co-worker you have, is not much different than the workplace). And I think I make a pretty good pot of coffee. My biggest daily challenge is trying to keep the house clean, which is difficult with 1 toddler, 1 dog and 2 cats.
I have three focuses right now – being my toddler’s playmate, chef, and personal assistant, learning to make wire and bead jewelry (which I hope to start selling soon to offset my recent rash of retail therapy), and doing oodles of research to try to begin our kitchen remodel.
